Hot, fresh corn-on-the-cob is an almost essential part of any summertime party. Fortunately, it is also worthy part of any healthful menu. Corn is a good source of many nutrients including thiamin (vitamin B1), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), folate, dietary fiber, vitamin C, phosphorous and manganese.
“Sweet corn season is one of the most anticipated times of the year for folks in these parts. This year’s crop won’t disappoint either. The corn is full, tender, and very tasty. We have a couple of varieties, the most popular of which seems to be what people refer to as ‘butter & salt’ or ‘butter & sugar’,” notes owner Jack Moore. “If you have never tried preparing sweet corn other than by boiling it and covering it with butter, we can give you a couple of ways to try.”
Kathy Moore, points out, “ This is an opportunity for young and old alike who just can’t wait for that first bite of fresh homegrown sweet corn, as well as the many products we have to help you and your family to enjoy corn. ”
